An editorial in yesterday’s edition stated that the RTÉ board had asked senior managers in RTÉ to step aside pending the outcome of the BAI inquiry.

In fact, the managing director of RTÉ News and Current Affairs, Ed Mulhall, as was clear in the RTÉ statement, had decided to step aside from his role during this period and had agreed this course of action with the director general before the meeting of the RTÉ board. The same applies to the editor of Current Affairs, Ken O’Shea.

An opinion article on decentralisation in the edition of November 21st stated that 20 staff at the Office of Public Works were conveyed to its new headquarters in Trim, Co Meath, by bus from Dublin Castle on a daily basis. In fact, this bus ceased to operate in November 2010 after Bus Éireann introduced an early morning service between Dublin and Trim. Also, responsibility for implementing the decentralisation policy lay with the Department of Finance whereas the OPWs role was to provide the infrastructure.
