A report in yesterday's editions on criticism voiced by a senior Army officer on Thursday at an official function attended by the Minister for Defence, Mr Smith, in Collins Barracks, Cork, quoted the officer in question as referring to an "empty old mess and armoury". In fact, Col Brownen referred to an "NCOs' mess and armoury".
The error occurred in transmission.
