Corrections and clarifications

Two statistical errors occurred in Monday's feature headed "Forced labour: how we manage women in childbirth"

Two statistical errors occurred in Monday's feature headed "Forced labour: how we manage women in childbirth". The report said that from a total of 108 maternity facilities in 1973, only 17 remained; this should have read 22.

The accompanying map omitted these five centres: four units in the South Eastern Health Board area, and one in the Midlands Health Board area. And the neonatal mortality rate for unplanned out-of-hospital births is 68 per 1,000 and not six per thousand, as stated in a panel.

Where errors occur it is the policy of The Irish Times to correct or clarify as soon as practicable.
