In Vincent Browne's column published on Wednesday last (November 14), former US Senator Sam Nunn was quoted as saying "the former Soviet Union engaged in a massive programme of biological weapons manufacture, at one time employing 870,000 scientists". This should have read 70,000 scientists.

In Thursday's newspaper (Nov 15th) it was reported that Ryanair was due to respond that day to a request from the European Commission for a copy of the agreement between the airline and the Walloon provincial government on the airline's sue of Charleroi airport.

In fact, the request for a copy of the agreement was made by the Commission to the Belgian government.
