An article in yesterday's editions by Gerry Moriarty, Northern Editor, headed "Political future of North depends on IRA", said the Alliance party had "lost" the North Down Westminster seat to Lady Sylvia Hermon of the UUP. It should have said that Alliance had handed the seat to her. The party decided not to put up a candidate in the constituency. The error occurred in the editing process.
