Richard (Dick) Haslam, who became Limerick county manager in 1970, held the post for 18 years and not 18 months as stated in his obituary in Saturday’s edition.
A report in last Wednesday’s edition quoted Dr Catherine O’Connell, chief executive of the Irish Peatland Conservation Council, as saying that families with turbary rights on protected bogs had been offered free annual delivery of 15,000 tonnes of turf from other peatland sites. This should have read 15 tonnes.
