An article in the edition of August 26th, concerning the Corrib gas project, stated incorrectly that waste chemicals from the gas processing terminal at Bellanaboy will be discharged 80kms off the Mayo coastline.

What will be discharged to sea is treated produced water. The Environmental Protection Agency, in issuing its emission licence, said there is no potential for harm to the marine environment from the treated produced water.

An article in the edition of September 17th said that Shell expects local resistance to escalate if permission is given for the last section of the pipeline. What Shell actually said was that they hoped resistance would not escalate but that it “would be unrealistic to expect” that resistance would not continue.

The bestsellers list in last Saturday's Weekend Review supplement omitted Stairways to Heavenby Lorna Byrne from the Paperback Non-fiction list. With 2,421 copies sold last week, the book is number one in its category. The list supplied to The Irish Timeswas incorrect.
