An article in last Monday’s edition, carried an inaccurate headline ’Glasnevin Cemetery apology for removing Angel plot items’. As the text of the article made clear, the cemetery apologised for any hurt caused to bereaved families following the removal of items from the graves. The cemetery did not apologise for removing the items.
In addition, the article stated that "up to 30 babies are buried in communal graves at the plot, under headstones that list their names".
In fact, between 550 and 700 are buried there annually and there are up to 30 in each shared grave.
