KILKENNY COLLEGE were in no mood to surrender their Leinster Schools' Senior Cup Section A crown in their first-round tie against De La Salle Dundalk at King's Hospital.

Kilkenny set the tone in racing into a 14-point lead after nine minutes with tries from captain Niall O'Gorman and flanker Fergus Austin. Out-half Barry Finnegan kicked a long-range penalty for Dundalk but the second of O'Gorman's three tries in the 22nd minute virtually signalled the end of the contest.

Kilkenny dominated the second half and were rewarded with late tries from Stuart Williams and Philip Furney.
