Transition solution for Dublin Airport

Time for fresh thinking

Sir, – There is no need to describe the chaos going on in Dublin Airport in recent days – that has been done many times.

As I made my way through the airport on Saturday morning, with its endless, queues, blocked escalators, lifts and exit doors, lack of seating and dirty toilets, a possible solution came to mind.

Each year many Transition Year students participate in the Mini Company – a programme devised to expose students to enterprise and promote entrepreneurship. It aims to support learning through the exploration of what running a business entails, to challenge thinking and encourage creative thinking, problem solving and independent learning.

Maybe next year’s students could work on a management project and try to come up with a plan to sort the mess that Dublin Airport management are currently presiding over.
