Sir, – It really is a sad state of affairs when a young Russian professional tennis player is banned from practising on our courts (“How is banning a Russian from practising tennis in Dublin helping the war effort in Ukraine?”, Johnny Watterson, Sport, June 3rd).
As Johnny Watterson rightly says: “ordinary Russian people are no more to blame than the average American was for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan”.
Vitalia Diatchenko is in Dublin representing nobody but herself.
