Sir, – This morning I took advantage of an excellent one-stop train between Kildare and Grand Canal Dock in Dublin, taking a little over an hour by means of the Phoenix Park tunnel.
Unfortunately this service is only offered on weekdays. Those of us with a need to connect to the Dart from the south and west of the country on a weekend have to disembark at Heuston Station, take the Luas to Connolly, and wait again – a process that takes around 45 minutes longer.
A weekend shuttle service through the tunnel would be very welcome.
