Sir, – Frank McNally in An Irishman’s Diary (June 9th) makes mention of Patrick Campbell and his nightmare about a blank space in a newspaper column.
Which brings to mind the assertion by the late Douglas Adams that “Writing is easy. You only need to stare at a blank piece of paper until your forehead bleeds”.
