Sir, – Boris Johnson has consistently put himself firmly before his country, party and family. That being so, he will be keen to exact revenge for his departure and ensure his own legacy. There is evidence of this mindset already.
He has chosen to support Liz Truss rather than a better equipped Rishi Sunak, not for reasons of political compatibility (who knows really what Boris stands for apart from himself), but because, if elected, she is even more ill-equipped to do the job than her predecessor.
It is an old ruse to make oneself look better following an unsatisfactory departure. In time, following the next election, it also serves as two fingers to his parliamentary colleagues. – Yours, etc,
