Sir, – Concerning the threat of winter blackouts, why are office blocks lit at night? We hardly need street lighting in Dublin city through the night with all these towering blocks ablaze with light, including the blocks not already occupied!
My generation was reared to conserve everything, not only electricity. A very familiar question or threat in our house was “Who left that light on?” or “Which of you left the immersion on?” – Yours, etc,
