Sir, – Why have we opened a new runway at Dublin Airport after just setting a formal target of a 51 per cent reduction in transport emissions by 2030? So much for strategic planning!
Ireland ratified the Paris Agreement in 2016 which committed us to carbon reductions and in 2021 we passed legislation which set a legally binding path of net-zero emissions by 2050.
How can the Government claim to be committed to a policy of carbon reduction while allowing developments proceed which blatantly contradict it? – Yours, etc,
