Sir, – John McDwyer cites a number of developments this week that suggest a post-Covid return to normality (Letters, August 26th). The Hot/Cold index of The Irish Times Saturday edition was, early in the pandemic and with an abundance of bad news, altered so as to accentuate only the positive. Perhaps that too might return to its former balance of up and downbeat developments? On the “Cold” side, we might start with “Going back to school”. – Yours, etc,
