Sir, – As we have a large number of TDs with property interests in our Dáil, should we be asking ourselves whether TDs who stand to gain materially, either directly or indirectly, from a piece of legislation should be in a position to influence or frame Government policy in such areas? I raise this question in addition to and apart from the very necessary requirement to disclose conflicts of interest, and the urgent need to implement the long-delayed reforms proposed in the Public Sector Standards Bill of 2015. – Yours, etc,
