Sir, – Michael McDowell (Opinion & Analysis, August 31st) contends there is a plausible case to be made for the retention of the Derrybrien wind farm in Co Galway. He avers that the proposed demolition of the project is “nonsense on stilts’'.
Given the fact that no less an institution than the European Court of Justice has ruled that the project had been built without proper environmental assessment, which rendered its planning permission invalid, your columnist is tilting at windmills.
The demolition of Derrybrien is pretty much a fait accompli. – Yours, etc,
