Sir, – At Christmas 2020 and 2021, we strived, in the words of the Taoiseach, to “have a meaningful Christmas”. This year, with the promised energy price increases, the threatened blackouts, and the suggestion that the actual Christmas lights may have to be curtailed, “meaningful” may be too big a word to describe what’s coming. – Yours, etc,
