Sir, – The death of Queen Elizabeth has given rise to discussion on monarchy and one correspondent to your paper describes it as an anachronism in these times (September 12th).
The UK, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway are among the most socially progressive countries in the world. They are all monarchies.
In that context, I don’t see what is so great about living in a republic. – Yours, etc,
