Sir, – I find it somewhat ironic that in your editorial “An agenda for after the crisis” (September 15th), the need to raise new revenues, as recommended by the Commission on Tax and Welfare, is advocated for with an emphasis on the need to raise revenue from a broader base, while the second editorial “Protecting a vital service” pleads the case for a zero VAT rate for newspapers.
If calling for increased taxes while pleading for a tax exemption for yourself isn’t ironic, what is? – Yours, etc,
