Getting through on the phone

Sir, – I agree with Pilita Clark (“Why is it so hard to get anyone on the phone?”, Business, Opinion, September 19th).

I have tried in vain to get through to Virgin Media by phone about a breakdown in service. On the first couple of occasions, the waiting time was 30 minutes; more recently, it has been an hour. I have still not made contact. This is not customer service. It is more like customer pain. – Yours, etc,
