Sir, – It is truly shocking that Dún Laoghaire County Council is considering routing a cycling thoroughfare through a cemetery and changing the very soul of the most sensitive and personal of places. (”Families oppose Deansgrange Cemetery cycle path plan, News, October 6th.)
While we should all be more supportive of encouraging moves away from the car, this should be achieved by targeting existing spaces for traffic and not by shamelessly disrespecting loved ones that have passed away and have no voice in this matter.
There should be an immediate stop to this ill-considered and thoughtless plan. –
