Sir, – I felt a serious case of déjà vu reading the Central Bank’s announcement relaxing the macro-prudential rules regarding mortgage borrowing (“Central Bank defends inflationary easing of mortgage rules amid cost-of-living crisis”, Business, October 19th).
Relaxing these rules while still under serious housing supply constraints is a recipe for a disaster we’ve already lived through. History repeats itself for those who don’t pay attention. – Yours, etc,
