Sir, – The Ukrainian ambassador finds the lack of accommodation for some newly arrived refugees “unacceptable” (News, October 24th).
Perhaps she might identify which magic wand we should wave to provide instant accommodation on tap for an open-ended number of refugees given that we already have an acute housing crisis in this country.
We have already facilitated 60,000 new arrivals this year, including Ukrainians and international protection applicants. It would also be appropriate for her to explain under what dispensation apparently able-bodied men of military age are coming here, given that her government has a blanket ban on their exit. – Yours, etc,
