Sir, – As if things hadn’t already reached an unprecedented nadir, now Ireland go and defeat England in cricket, the most genteel pursuit of the British Establishment and a bastion of the old order (“T20 World Cup: Famous win for Ireland as they beat England in rain-affected clash”, Sport, October 26th). Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold. Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world! Or more colloquially, perhaps, kicking them when they’re down. – Yours, etc,
