A chara, – It is very inspiring to see Brazilian citizens in Ireland exercising their right to vote in Brazilian elections (“Brazilians in Ireland go to the polls in Croke Park”, News, October 31st). An iconic stadium, and an ironic reminder that we do not see similar reports or photographs of Irish citizens abroad voting in Irish elections.
So much for brave new progressive, inclusive Ireland, with a Government proudly preaching human rights the world over yet shamelessly disenfranchising its own citizens.
