Sir, – The 100 million chickens killed annually in some 350 “farms” in Ireland never see the light of day. Enforcing the ministerial directive to keep them indoors due to risk of avian flu should not be a problem. Sadly your Sunday roast chicken will have more room in the oven than it had while alive.
