A chara, – Róisín Ingle clearly intended to remind readers that the horrors of institutional abuse in Ireland were not limited to correctional schools or deprived areas, but extended also to privileged and prestigious organisations (“Turns out Blackrock College was a world away from us Pill Hill girls”, Life, November 16th). How did she, or anyone on your editorial staff, think that it is appropriate to use the exposure of decades of sexual abuse in that school as some sort of excuse for a point-scoring exercise against “posher” boys who once made up a mean nickname for her own school? – Yours, etc,
