Sir, – I sincerely hope that the voters of Ireland’s South Constituency are recoiling in horror at Mick Wallace’s criticism of Iranian protesters (“Mick Wallace criticises protests in Iran and ‘propaganda’ against regime”, News, November 25th).
Apparently, the brutal killing of Mahsa Amini, reports of arbitrary arrests, gender-based and sexual violence and the persecution of Christians are not enough to persuade Mr Wallace that this is a brutal regime that deserves no voice of support. – Yours, etc,
