Sir, – Most of our bus shelters are advertising hoardings in disguise. They are designed to provide maximum exposure for an advertisement, and shelter from the elements is an incidental bonus. Hence the side-panelling is on the back where it does not protect the waiting public from spray thrown up by passing traffic. – Yours, etc,
