Sir, – It’s the perfect time of the year to give credit to Dublin City Council for giving the capital a traffic-free festive Capel Street. The city’s former main thoroughfare, overlooked by City Hall, can now boast many restaurants, bars and multiple stores.
With some residents living on upper floors of the buildings, it’s now a street similar to many found in other European cities, with not an international fashion brand boutique in sight. Well done to all, and a happy Christmas. – Yours, etc,
