Us and them

Sir, – With reference to “Car parking curbs and cutting mileage by 20 per cent among Coalition plans to reduce emissions” (News, December 21st), I suggest that the Government takes the lead example by removing car parking in front of the Dáil.

What other parliament accommodates a car park directly in front of its prime government building? – Yours, etc,

Sir, – When I see that the Dáil has removed car parking, the public service has cancelled car parking leases and Dublin City Council has closed its vast car park near City Hall, then I will believe that this administration wants to be even handed about restricting private car parking. – Yours, etc,
