Sir, – Ciarán Ferrie (Letters, January 10th) makes a very good point about congestion and the size of modern cars. Maybe it is time to levy motor tax not on emissions but on the physical size of private cars. After all, an electric SUV takes up just as much road space as a petrol or a diesel version. – Yours, etc,
