Sir, – We have just passed the one-year mark since the Government announced the €1,000 pandemic special recognition payment to frontline healthcare workers, yet many remain unpaid.
Four months ago, your newspaper ran a headline that the State was tendering for a contractor to manage this payment to the several thousand who remain unpaid (“Covid-19 pandemic bonus payments further delayed for non-HSE frontline staff”, Health, September 12th), yet here we remain.
Does anyone know if the recognition payment is still intended or is the plan to allow inflation to take care of matters? – Yours, etc,
