Sir, – Conor Pope lists 10 types of scam by email, text message or phone call (“‘Why are you stealing from people, Adam?’ What happened when a scam artist phoned Conor Pope”, Your Money, March 20th). He may not have experienced the type of email I frequently receive, ostensibly from a terminally ill person asking me to help establish a hospital/orphanage/leper colony in their memory. One woman even offered me money which had been embezzled by her husband while he was finance minister of an African state. Last week, “Jeff Bezos” asked me to help him disperse his personal fortune.
