Sir, – My wife and I are so glad to be in Ireland. We arrived just three weeks ago in London to discover demonstrations on our last day, and feeling glad to leave for Paris. However, we were welcomed in Paris by rubbish everywhere because of the strike. Our plans were cancelled because of protests. At least the Germans were kind enough to give us a three-day strike warning. We had to quickly cancel plans again, arriving a week early in Dublin.
Despite arriving near midnight, we received a warm welcome at the airport and again at our hotel.
We’re travelling throughout Ireland, meeting the best people on our trip.
Thank you, Ireland, for saving our holiday vacation.
