Sir, – Finn McRedmond’s article debates the potential risks to our cultural legacy if society continues to pander to the changing “sensibilities” of a minority of authoritarians (“We risk losing our cultural legacy if we constantly cater to changing sensibilities”, Opinion & Analysis, April 6th). Might I suggest that all art galleries immediately paint over any potentially offensive paintings in case they upset these modern-day self-appointed judges? After all, their perceptions are so much more important than thousands of years of history, aren’t they? – Yours, etc,
