Sir, – I remember first hearing about civil rights as a teenager living in Dundalk. I was always proud of my town – a vibrant Border town in a lovely setting on the coast surrounded by the Cooley mountains.
Over the years, as the Troubles escalated, I saw the destruction of the town, shops closing, a sense of fear. El Paso was the new name for Dundalk.
Thankfully today, as a result of the Belfast Agreement, I am again proud of my town Dundalk. – Yours, etc,
