Sir, – It is good to see regular buses from Kildare to Dublin at a reasonably low price. However, they are often late, sometimes by 40 minutes.
The new Go Ahead 126 bus lacks legroom for any tall person so it’s torture unless one gets a front, middle back or exit door seat.
Boarding is slower than ever, often taking a minute per person while we stand waiting in the rain. Why can’t we tap on and tap off with a card or phone app like other countries do?
Every day leaving Dublin the bus is packed, so people have to wait up to an hour for the next one. Why is a double decker not scheduled for rush hour?
New Irish citizens: ‘I hear the racist and xenophobic slurs on the streets. Everything is blamed on immigrants’
Jack Reynor: ‘We were in two minds between eloping or going the whole hog but we got married in Wicklow with about 220 people’
‘I could have gone to California. At this rate, I probably would have raised about half a billion dollars’

With a bus packed with people in winter coats, wet from the rain, the heat and humidity adds to our discomfort. Yet the driver says the AC is working (there is no sign of it to us). Who purchased buses with inadequate ventilation and seating space? How many of our politicians commute by bus and see what it is really like? – Yours, etc,
