Sir, – With all the backslapping, promises of support, thanks for the hard work of others and entreaties for everyone to come together and get the Stormont Executive back to work, there has been a glaring failure to state the obvious. The Stormont Executive has no chance of reforming due to the simple plain fact that the DUP will never agree to be “deputy” to Sinn Féin.
It matters not a jot that the two roles are supposed to have equal measure, the simple word “deputy” is where the real trouble lies. – Yours, etc,
