Sir, – It was refreshing to read Finn McRedmond giving a fair hearing to the male novelist where she rightly points out that the #MeToo movement “has made men in literature more cautious” (“Where has the rock star male novelist gone?”, Opinion & Analysis, April 20th).
It is good that publishing landscape is no longer dominated by men and “literary ambition should belong to everyone”. A work of literature stands or falls on its merit not on the gender or personal life of the author. – Yours, etc,
MIKE MORAN,
Dublin 3.
