Sir, – I do not know about other people but when I heard the Tánaiste question publicly if the triple lock on Irish neutrality was fit for purpose, I was filled with trepidation (News, May 18th). This is because I anticipated him to embark on another one of what he terms his “journeys”, like the one he suddenly performed for the referendum on the repeal of the Eighth Amendment. The Tánaiste’s journeys always seem to involve him arriving at a destination having been propelled there solely by the force of the wind happening to blow in a particular direction. He has made so many journeys of late that he is liable to bump into himself on his return. – Yours, etc,
DAVID DOYLE,
Dublin 4.
