Sir, – Pat Leahy points to “the disconnect between the wealth of the country and the poverty of services such as transport, housing, childcare and health” and identifies a failure to deliver as the key negative factor in each of these services (“Lack of delivery is a major issue for the Coalition”, Opinion & Analysis, May 20th).
As one recalls Fine Gael’s remarkably ill-conceived election slogan in 2016 (“Keep the recovery going”) which failed to deliver the votes, is it too soon to speculate what persuasive, or brazen, mantras the Coalition partners might dream up next time round? – Yours, etc,
