Sir, – Your obituary for Peter Brooke, the former Northern Ireland secretary, noted that his father had been British home secretary under Edward Heath (“Former Northern Ireland secretary of state helped lay groundwork for peace process”, May 20th). That is incorrect. Henry Brooke was home secretary from 1962 to 1964 under Harold Macmillan and Sir Alec Douglas-Home. – Yours, etc,
