Sir, – Everyone is allowed a misjudgment every now and then and mine was to recently board an early-morning Wexford to Dublin train at Bray train station.
It was immediately clear from the steamy atmosphere and sleepy inhabitants that most occupants has boarded the train several hours earlier.
My short part of the journey was comfortable enough except for the habit of several passengers yawning to the full extent their jaws would allow, without covering their mouths.
There was so much collective yawning at one stage I was witness to a biological presentation of uvulas as the wobbled in Riverdance-like fashion at the back of several throats.
Ann Ingle: Deliberately going out of my way to move for no particular reason has never appealed to me
Gerry Thornley: How about an alternative look at Ireland’s Six Nations win over England?
Is Ireland anti-Semitic, an outlier of tolerance or in the middle ground?
How risky is it to buy a second-hand EV?
Why do people not cover their mouths? This is one “yawn chorus” I could do without! – Yours, etc,
GEOFF SCARGILL,
Bray,
Co Wicklow.
