Sir, – When I was younger the only people who wore black were widows, priests, nuns and Christian Brothers. Thankfully, these people now wear whatever clothes and colours they wish. But black clothes have transferred to other cohorts. Nowadays the staff in my local newspaper shop, coffee shop, restaurants, even my local barbers are all wearing black. Why? Come on folks, lighten up and wear some colourful clothes. Bring some summer cheer. – Yours, etc,
TONY CORCORAN,
Dublin 14.
