Sir, – Your editorial “The Irish Times view on post-Brexit diplomacy: the price of being outside the room” (July 21st) about the EU using the term “Islas Malvinas” (and post-Brexit the British being unable to prevent it) brought me back to a UK trade mission to Buenos Aires in which I participated in 1998.
To avoid difficulty in presentations, speakers from both sides used the euphemism “the area of mutual interest”. – Is mise,
