Sir, – It seems that Transport for Ireland has still not got to grips with the disappearing bus syndrome. Last Sunday I was waiting for a 123 bus on College Green in Dublin along with a group of American visitors who were travelling to the Guinness Storehouse.
We watched the usual countdown from 17 minutes to one minute, whereupon the bus disappeared from the screen and reappeared at the bottom showing 20 minutes.
The frustration and annoyance on College Green were very real.
Is this issue ever going to be resolved?
Matt Williams: Take a deep breath and see how Sam Prendergast copes with big Fiji test
New Irish citizens: ‘I hear the racist and xenophobic slurs on the streets. Everything is blamed on immigrants’
Jack Reynor: ‘We were in two minds between eloping or going the whole hog but we got married in Wicklow with about 220 people’
‘I could have gone to California. At this rate, I probably would have raised about half a billion dollars’
If Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan is serious about getting us out of cars and on to public transport, a working system of bus information is a basic requirement.
This messing about has gone on for far too long. – Yours, etc,
DECLAN ROCHE,
East Wall,
